The bat turns in his hands as he pushes at a back of a length delivery from Trent Boult but the contact was solid enough to take the ball to the rope/ cushion/ sponge.

He gets the first runs of the day with a firm push down the ground, flicked back just before the boundary sponge and they are back for two.
A good stop from a diving Glenn Phillips at backward point last ball ensures those are the only runs of the first over.
