Ibrahim Zadran is such a good player. I saw his century against Australia and he was so impressive, as much as everyone will remember Glenn Maxwell more in that game!
Having a batter who can play that anchor role is very important for Afghanistan, it is something they have not had before.

This is pretty much a free hit for South Africa, they have already reached the knockouts.
They were told by the management before the World Cup that this tournament itself was a free hit too, because they are hosting the next one in 2027 and that is what they are building towards.
And I think that attitude has freed them up a bit.

Whatever happens today, this World Cup has been a big success for Afghanistan. They have always had a brilliantly strong bowling attack, plenty of spin options, but the batting has fallen short.
But this tournament the batting has stood up and come to the party and they have shown that they are capable of pushing the top teams.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah wins the toss and no questions about what he's doing - his side are going to have a bat and South Africa are going to have to chase.
Remember - South Africa have won every match where they've batted first in this tournament, but in their three chasing matches they've lost twice and only just scraped past Pakistan.
Just the 440 runs
Afghanistan's hopes of reaching the semi-finals weren't entirely extinguished by that ridiculous Maxwell 201*.
According to Test Match Special statistician Andy Zaltzman, they could beat New Zealand to the knock-out stage by winning by 440 runs today. No big thing.
South Africa, meanwhile, are already through to the semis.

It's been a successful tournament for both South Africa and Afghanistan, by as we we enter the final round of group games the two sides are licking their wounds.
South Africa have chased India at the top of the table throughout the competition, but came out very much second best when they met in Kolkata on Sunday, while Afghanistan harboured hopes of beating Australia until they ran into the unstoppable force of Glenn Maxwell.
Both will be hoping to return to better fortunes in Ahmedabad - it could be a close one...
