    Can 16-time world champion Phil Taylor seal a place in this year's final?

    Phil 'The Power' Taylor heads the field and is returning for his third Seniors event. He only reached the quarter-finals last time out but will be hoping to go all the way this time around.

    Taylor does like the venue, having reached the final in all 14 of the PDC World Darts Championship tournaments that were held at the Circus Tavern, winning 11.

    Robert Thornton is back in action, the two-time defending champion having won the inaugural event in 2022 before retaining the title last year with a 5-2 victory over Richie Howson.

    Also in the field will be ten-time women’s world champion Trina Gulliver MBE alongside four-time women’s world champion Lisa Ashton.

    John Part is one of a number of former PDC world champions taking part, while three-time BDO world champion Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams is also competing.

    Darts has a reputation as being slightly less vigorous exercise then some of its cousins.

    That may well be true, but in terms of meeting new people, finding a hobby and perfecting a difficult craft, it's as good a sport as any!

    The traditional route into darts has long been through your local pub, but an era of increased professionalism has opened up paths into the sport outside of the boozer.

    The Professional Darts Corporation is the main governing body offering its own route into the sport, however you can find local opportunities in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland through their local governing bodies.
