    Robert Thornton is back in action, the two-time defending champion having won the inaugural event in 2022 before retaining the title last year with a 5-2 victory over Richie Howson. Both progressed through the opening round.

    Kevin Painter, the 2004 World Championship runner-up is also through, alongside four-time women's World champion Lisa Ashton.

    Three-time BDO world champion Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams is through as well.

    Some big names fell in the opening round through with 16-time World champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor being knocked out by Germany's Manfred Bilderl. Ten-time women's World champion Trina Gulliver MBE is also out.
