He kept his cool to slot in the penalty which brought his side deservedly level before scoring the decisive spot-kick in the shoot-out to secure his side's progress.

Brazil cannot have much cause for complaint after losing on penalties. Robinho had given them the early lead but rather than going and trying to build on that lead they sat back too much.
Paraguay were allowed to put pressure on the Selecao and it eventually paid off with Derlis Gonzalez getting the equaliser.
Brazil struggled in the final third for most of the night and paid the price.

Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are now Liverpool team-mates, with the latter having signed for the Reds from Hoffenheim on a five-year deal for a deal which could be worth about £29m.

He missed his penalty in the shootout against Paraguay as Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America four years ago today.

BBC World Service's Richard Padula at the Estadio Municipal: "So, we'll have no repeat of the 2011 Copa America when these two teams met in the quarter-finals and after a goalless draw Paraguay won on penalties. Brazil missed all their spot-kicks (blaming the crumbling turf) as Paraguay won the shoot out 2-0.
"Paraguay went on to reach the final without winning game. It's looking like a very different story today, much to the delight of a small but lively group of Brazilian fans."

"The stadium is surrounded by narrow residential streets - with the local residents enjoying barbecues in their front gardens. Seems like most of the fans are locals...wearing Chile shirts, enjoying the first Copa match to be played in Concepcion. A few Brazilian flags dotted around the stadium - but it very much feels like a Chile match."

Just in case you were wondering where Brazil's star player Neymar is, well his tournament was over after two games.
He was banned for four matches after getting a yellow card, a straight red and then showering the referee with abuse during and the group game defeat by Colombia.
The 23-year-old Barcelona forward watched Brazil beat Venezuela from the stands and, while he might still be in Chile, he can't help his side on the pitch.
Argentina await winners

The winners of Brazil v Paraguay will play Argentina in the semi-finals after they beat Colombia on penalties.
Carlos Tevez got the winning spot-kick and you can watch highlights here. It's worth it just to see a couple of Colombia's misses in the shoot-out - Chris Waddle would be proud.
The prospect of a Brazil-Argentina semi sounds mouth watering but Paraguay will have plenty to say about that.

Four years ago in the same tournament the two teams met at the same stage and Paraguay came out on top after a penalty shoot-out, which they won 2-0 after Brazil, amazingly, failed to score a single penalty.
Brazil's O Globo newspaper website described their side's performance as the "worst football I've seen in the past few decades". Let's hope for a bit better this time eh...
All eyes on Firmino

Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are now Liverpool team-mates, with the latter having signed for the Reds from Hoffenheim on a five-year deal for a deal which could be worth about £29m.
The move was confirmed three days ago and suffice to say there will be a few more eyes on the 23-year-old tonight.
He scored the winner for Brazil in a 2-1 victory over Venezuela on Sunday and he again starts.
