  1. 'Liverpool not come to the party'published at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2016

    Norwich 2-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"Norwich are the better side, they are playing without fear which is difficult to pull off when you are near the bottom of the league, so the manager deserves a lot of credit for that. Liverpool have not come to the party today, they need a lot more from Emre Can and Lucas Leiva among others."

Matthew Willingham: Welcome to Norwich Steven Naismith!

Sean Yen: Norwich are really playing well and dominating the play! Keep it up lads!!

Paul Tadd: What was Can doing on second goal he just watched the run. Typical Liverpool defending on the recycled ball.

Patrick Zagar: Klopp has turned an average looking team into a distinctively average team. Lucky to still be in this.

Ash: Why are goalkeepers so reluctant to save with their feet? Mignolet could've stopped that if he did.

Alexander Green: Liverpool have the defence of a gazelle being hunted by a cheetah in the wild.

John Godsil: No confidence in Liverpool right now, Klopp needs a whole new defensive lineup, maybe bring Carraghar & Hyypia out of retirement.

Gareth Whalley: I'm so resigned to Liverpool being terrible in defence that the only emotion being felt is mild joy for Naismith.

  8. 'One of the best passes of the season'published at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2016

    Norwich 2-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"That is well worked, a brilliant goal. Wes Hoolahan's pass to Steven Naismith running on, is one of the best passes I have seen this season. It is only four yards but the angle is brilliant and then a great finish by Naismith.

"Norwich are not playing like a team that is worried about relegation. They seem confident and comfortable and have an attacking looking side, they deserve to be ahead."

Jurgen Klopp is sat in his seat twiddling with his beard hair. I wonder what must be going through his mind? His side looked comfortable and capable of scoring more after Roberto Firmino's opener.

    Two minutes of added time.

    Norwich 2-1 Liverpool

Robbie Brady looks to be a key man in this game. The midfielder is operating at left-back and getting forward a lot.

In touching the ball 44  times, he is seeing far more of it than anyone else on the pitch and his corner taking looks pretty dangerous too.

Brady has only completed 63% of his passes. If that stat gets higher then he could prove particularly pivotal as things play out.

    What did I say?

Liverpool did deal with the corner but Norwich came back immediately as Wes Hoolan's threaded ball beats Jordan Henderson, Steven Naismith ghosts into the area and shoots across Simon Mignolet and into the far corner.

A lovely debut goal for Naismith, who also scored his first for Everton against Liverpool.

An opportunity for Norwich as Alberto Moreno slips, gifting the ball to Wes Hoolahan. Moreno recovers quickly, though, to win back possession.

After opening the scoring, Liverpool looked capable of knocking in a few more before half-time. At the moment, only Norwich looking like adding to the scoring.

    Another Norwich corner...

  15. 'Naismith has settled in'published at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2016

    Norwich 1-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"Steven Naismith has settled in well, his link-up play with Mbokani, Redmond and Hoolahan is excellent. Everyone seems to understand each other."

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 36 mins

...better from Liverpool as Mamadou Sakho heads away Robbie Brady's corner, although there's a suggestion James Milner takes down Steven Naismith inside the area as they challenge for the loose ball. Penalty? Referee says no.

Dieumerci Mbokani is loving the backheel now, producing another one  to knock the ball into Steven Naismith's path, but he can't get a shot off.

Norwich have another corner. The game has swung back in the hosts' favour...

Patrick Zagar: Liverpool's defence has the ability to make a grown man weep in despair.

David: Liverpool can't keep goal, can't clear a ball, can't play an offside trap. Signs of a midtable squad right now.

Lewis Longman: Watching Liverpool try to defend a corner is like watching a drunk uncle dancing at a weekend. Painful and awkward.

Ashley Tezoo: Every single time we give away a free kick or corner the opposition look like scoring. Still so disappointing from LFC

  19. 'It wasn't Barcelona'published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2016

    Norwich 1-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"Let's be honest it wasn't Barcelona was it?

"There was no intricate play, the ball was lumped in the area, it bounced around from head to head, I counted four headers before it fell at the feet of Mbokani. He is someone with a bit of skill and awareness and backheeled it in, there was no stopping that, he powered it in. There was nothing the keeper could do about it.

"It is all about the desire to win the headers when the corner is played in, that is what Norwich did and they won the ball."

I think there may have also been a nutmeg by Dieumerci Mbokani, just upping the cheekiness factor in that goal.

Mbokani has taken a bit of a knock and is down injured, but it is only a short delay before he is back up and good to go.
