This time three years ago Stanislav Cherchesov and Russia had just got their World Cup campaign off to a flying start after a 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia.
It was the start of a run that would propel the hosts to the quarter-finals.
Now Cherchesov and his team are under pressure after crumbling 3-0 at the hands of Belgium in their opening group game at Euro 2020.
In addition, veteran defender Yuri Zhirkov has left the camp after injuring his thigh.

A win for Finland, coupled with Denmark failing to beat Belgium, will ensure a top-two finish for the debutants.
It is tantalisingly close for the Finns, closer than they perhaps expected, but key for boss Markku Kanerva is just how much his players will still be affected by what happened to Christian Eriksen.
"It is hard to estimate how the event of Eriksen will affect different people and of course we all have it in our minds," the former Finland defender said.
"We are very glad that Eriksen is doing better and I hope regarding the difficult situation we will be able to concentrate on the match. But it is not an easy task for all of us to concentrate only on football because there were bigger things than football in play."
