It's up to Russia to come and take the game to Finland.

Can Russia break them down? Finland have got a terrific spirit about them with three points in the bag. If they win today, they'll be the first team to qualify for the last 16.

  5. 'It was a terrible, horrendous thing going on'

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Finland

Finland striker Teemu Pukki speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was a terrible, horrendous thing going on, but the most important thing is that Christian Eriksen is still with us.

"I was talking with him the other day and he's getting better. He's shocked and we're shocked, but he's getting better."

  6. Post update

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

The players are out on the pitch, meaning it is time for the national anthems.

  7. A historic strike

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    .

This was a moment of history for the Finns - their first goal at a major tournament.

That strike came from what was the country's first - and so far only - shot at the tournament.

  8. 'History will be Finland's focus'

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Alex Scott

Former England and Arsenal defender on BBC One

I think Finland will be going into this game knowing they can make more history. That will be their main focus and removing the emotion that has gone before and focusing on what lies ahead now.

  10. 'No-one was in the right frame of mind'

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Finland

Finland captain Tim Sparv speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "None of us were okay when Christian Eriksen collapsed. I don't think anyone was in the right frame of mind.

"Football was not the most important thing that day. Three points, fine, but what is really remarkable is that Christian Eriksen is still here with us."

  11. Post update

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    .

We're getting quite a snazzy little pre-match show here with a big banner laid out on the pitch with 'St Petersburg' on it before giant shirts of the respective teams are manoeuvred onto the turf.

  12. Home advantage

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    .

This is a must win game for Russia and they will be hoping home advantage helps them. This one is being played in St Petersburg at the St Petersburg Stadium.

  13. 'We'll see a different Finland today'

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Dion Dublin

Former Man Utd and Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

The game against Denmark was finished. I don't think the Danish players were there in mind. There's no way in the world anyone could be there in mind. Finland got over the line, got the points. Hopefully we'll see a different Finland today. Sharper, playing through the thirds and we'll see what they've got.

  14. Post update

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Russia have got ability and they've got a lot of very talented players, but I think it's a psychological thing with them.

You could see when they walked out in their first game against Belgium, in their body language, they were thinking: 'We don't want to be playing our first game against these guys.'

  15. Russia under pressure

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Russia

    .

This time three years ago Stanislav Cherchesov and Russia had just got their World Cup campaign off to a flying start after a 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia.

It was the start of a run that would propel the hosts to the quarter-finals.

Now Cherchesov and his team are under pressure after crumbling 3-0 at the hands of Belgium in their opening group game at Euro 2020.

In addition, veteran defender Yuri Zhirkov has left the camp after injuring his thigh.

  16. Watch on the BBC

    BBC One

There's three games today as we kick off the second round of fixtures in the groups, and the first two games are live on the BBC.

Build up to Finland versus Russia starts on BBC One and online from 13:45 BST and then Wales versus Turkey (17:00 BST) will also be live on BBC TV and online.

  17. Team news

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    Finland

Just the one change from the Finland side that beat Denmark 1-0 in a match overshadowed by Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsing on the pitch.

Rasmus Schuller replaces captain Tim Sparv in midfield as Finland try to become the first team to pick up six points from two matches.

Finland: Hradecky; O’Shaughnessy, Arajuuri, Toivio; Uronen, Kamara, Schüller, Lod, Raitala; Pukki, Pohjanpalo.

Subs: Vaisanen, Jensen, Joronen, Soiri, Sparv, Alho, Kauko, Lappalainen, Jaakkola, Valakari, Ivanov, Forss.

    Russia

Russia make three changes to the 11 that started the 3-0 loss to Belgium in their opener.

There's a change in goal as Matvei Safonov replaces Anton Shunin, while Aleksei Miranchuk and Igor Diveev come in for Andrey Semenov and Yuri Zhirkov.

Ex-Chelsea left-back Zhirkov is out of the rest of the tournament after picking up a calf injury against Belgium.

Russia: Safonov; Barinov, Dzhikiya, Diveev; Fernandes, Zobnin, Ozdoev, Kuzyayev; Miranchuk, Golovin; Dzyuba.

Subs: Shunin, Karavaev, Semenov, Cheryshev, Sobolev, Zabolotny, Dyupin, Zhemaletdinov, Fomin, Evgeniev, Makarov, Mukhin.

  18. Almost there...

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

    .

A win for Finland, coupled with Denmark failing to beat Belgium, will ensure a top-two finish for the debutants.

It is tantalisingly close for the Finns, closer than they perhaps expected, but key for boss Markku Kanerva is just how much his players will still be affected by what happened to Christian Eriksen.

"It is hard to estimate how the event of Eriksen will affect different people and of course we all have it in our minds," the former Finland defender said.

"We are very glad that Eriksen is doing better and I hope regarding the difficult situation we will be able to concentrate on the match. But it is not an easy task for all of us to concentrate only on football because there were bigger things than football in play."

  19. Making more history?

    Finland v Russia (14:00 BST)

Finland's first appearance at a major tournament was overshadowed by Christian Eriksen's collapse on the pitch. The Finns went on to get a historic win but football came second that day.

Thankfully, Eriksen appears to be on the road to recovery so that means football is the focus once more.

Finland have one win under their belts. Another against Russia today and the unexpected dream of reaching the knockouts on their debut appearance will become a reality.
