    On a musical/tv theme...

Slighty Frankie Goes To Hollywood this, but a cracking image.

Could almost see Andrea Belotti, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in a Godfather remake.

Only joking, Escape to Victory is usually only on the box at Christmas but then it feels a bit like that this morning.

11 hours and 19 minutes until the presents can be opened.

    Not that I am counting.

Midushan: It has to be the Italian Job (1969) surely. Robbing the Italians of their prized possessions should be enough motivation. Let's just hope they can walk away with the trophy without dropping it off the cliff.

Michael Caine at his finest. Oh what was that football film he starred in?

The excitement (and kids) don't generally allow for that in my house.

John Barnes rap in World in MotionImage source, @NewOrder

'You've got to hold and give but do it at the right time, you can be slow or fast but you must get to the line.

'They'll always hit you and hurt you, defend and attack, there's only one way to beat them get 'round the back.

'Catch me if you can, cause I'm the England man.

'And what you're looking at is the master plan. We ain't no hooligans. This ain't a football song. Three lions on my chest. I know we can't go wrong.'

    We're playing for....

That's a cracker Matthew. No tables to stand on mind (I'm guessing).

Andrew, I've sneaked that one in as it's probably my all-time favourite football song and I'm sure you're watching the video of John Barnes in all his glory...

Andrew: Quite relaxed but the nerves will kick in later on, New Order's World in Motion is a must & whatever the outcome the country is very proud, COME ON ENGLAND.

Anon: Got to be the film 'The Jazz Singer (1980)' starring recently converted England fan, Neil Diamond.

Matthew: I’d show the England squad Dead Poets Society- Robin Williams giving his carpe diem speech.

Micah Richards has been on song during the Euros.

He just has a way of telling stories doesn't he.

And here are a few belters about borrowing England team-mate Steven Gerrard's boots, and his bullet header against Finland.

To top it off he shows off his vocals during his entertaining stint as a Euro 2020 pundit for the BBC.

  12. Queen recalls 1966 as she wishes England team wellpublished at 08:13 British Summer Time 11 July 2021

Now if you're a high profile English footballer, messages on Saturday nights come in all sorts of guises.

From family and friends celebrating or commiserating a win or defeat, girlfriends and wives arranging an evening meal, or just other players sorting the next night out.

But Gareth Southgate and his England players received a very special communication on Saturday as the Queen sent on her "good wishes" and recalled presenting the World Cup trophy in 1966.

She said she hoped that history would record the team's success but also "the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves".

It’s taken 55 years and a lot more downs than ups, but England are at last in the final of a major football tournament.

I am so excited. If only I could fast forward just under 12 hours.

Ian Wright's getting in the mood with a homage to Raheem Sterling.

Bet there'll be a few of these on the stalls outside Wembley? Not sure he'll be able to persuade Roy Keane to put one on mind, when they link up later for commentary duties.

The 1980s version with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd or the 2016 film with Chris Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy?

Kazmi: I’d show Penguins of Madagascar. An elite squad capable of getting out of trouble at every corner. Being chased by an opponent who doesn’t like the attention they get. The team never gives up and sticks together through thick and thin to achieve their goal.

Emma: I'd show them Ghostbusters. Not only is it the greatest film of all time, there are some ghosts of England past that they need to banish and it's only when they work as a team that they're able to do it.

The BBC's Luxmy Gopal goes back to the boys' (grass)roots to meet those who know stars best - including Harry Kane's former school teacher and the England squad's unofficial barber.

The England and Manchester City forward has been on top form at the Euros and this really is worth a look.
