Mic Medeska: United supporter here. Hope they lose and it’s De Gea’s fault. This is now twice Romero has gotten them deep into a tourney this year and Ole replaces him. Kick rocks

Samrat Ray Chaudhuri: De Gea again? In another semifinal? Praying that he doesn't have one of those days like he's had against Chelsea.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes on BT Sport: "Ole thinks De Gea is their best keeper. I'm glad he's done it."

They missed out on final Wembley appearances in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup (De Gea anybody?) this season, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is committed to making it third time lucky.

    Here's Ole:

"Mentally the boys will be ready because a semi-final everyone would want to take part and join in. I just want them to enjoy it.

"For me as well, looking forward to the semis. We've been already twice now in the semi this season.

"Of course we're happy with going as far as we have but we're not satisfied. We want to go one step further. You know that when you come to a semi-final, you're playing against big teams. Good teams with quality. It's time to step up for big players, big-game moments."

If I were Sergio Romero I'd be out of this club. Time and time again the manager has shown him a complete and utter lack of respect and faith by dropping him for the latter stages of cup competitions against the so called bigger teams. Where's the loyalty here? I was no fan of Jose, but at least he stuck to his guns and delivered on the game time he'd promised his back up keeper. Romero was steady in that successful Europa League campaign three years ago, as he has been in every game I've seen him throughout his United career. What's more, surely you'd now be hesitant as a player to trust a word or a promise that comes out of Ole's mouth. It's a shameful, cowardly move that I didn't think he'd commit twice after the catastrophe against Chelsea. Lost a lot of respect for a club hero I've always held so much for tonight.

De Gea the far better keeper. And will be ready.

    Chris from Leeds.

Honestly de gea getting picked ahead of romero today sends such a shocking message. Solskjaer has huge questions to answer if he makes another blunder

  13. Doubters proved wrong - time for Solskjaer to step up againpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

He'd be a millionaire if he had a pound for every person who doubted him (admittedly he's a millionaire anyway) this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was questioned over his abilities to lead the team earlier this campaign, coming on the back of a largely glorious honeymoon period in the second half of the previous campaign.

Defeats at West Ham and Newcastle coupled with draws saw United down in 14th by October.

But then fortunes started to change. Strikers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford took turns to shine when given their chances, and Mason Greenwod lived up to the hype.

They then recruited Bruno Fernandes - the attacking midfielder who added an incredible 11 goals to the tally since signing in January. The team finished third - a Champions League spot already in the bag.

There are questions over the defence, particularly keeper David De Gea. And regarding their opponents today, Sevilla have the Indian sign on English sides.

So how do you see this going?

A place in Friday's 2020 Europa League final is at stake.
