Goals continue to flow in Belgium

Belgium could get double figures tonight. Leicester midfielder Dennis Praet has scored their fifth against Belgium.

And Portugal have restored normal service, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a tap-in to give his side a 2-1 lead in Luxembourg.

Double change for the Republic of Ireland as Callum Robinson and Jason Knight come on for Daryl Horgan and Shane Long.

Long played well in the first half but Stephen Kenny has decided it is time to mix things up.

Republic of Ireland have their first corner of the game and it is played deep to Shane Duffy, who heads it back across but Qatar deal with the danger.

Two minutes into the second half and Qatar are level as Mohammed Muntari takes advantage of the defence backing off him to drive a shot from the edge of the box into the back of the net.

Luxembourg's lead didn't last long. Diogo Jota has equalised for Portugal, 1-1 in that one.

HALF-TIME

A goal and a decent performance - just what the Republic of Ireland needed.

Stephen Kenny is 45 minutes away from his first win in charge.

Two minutes of time added on at the end of 45 minutes. Republic of Ireland just need to keep their concentration a little longer and this will have been a good half for them.

Gavin Bazunu has had a couple of shaky moments in this game and there's another one just before the break as he leaps on the edge of his own area to catch a cross. He releases it as he falls outside the box but Qatar can't capitalise.

Lovely play on the right by Troy Parrott and Cyrus Christie, the former releasing the latter with a clever ball through the legs of his opponent. Christie charges towards the box and crosses but he can't find a team-mate. Shame as that was a nice move.

Shane Long is penalised for a foul inside the Qatar box as he tried to meet a Daryl Horgan corner and an opportunity is squandered for the Republic of Ireland.

Jeff Hendrick wins the ball in midfield and quickly finds Cyrus Christie. The full-back opts to go for goal but bends his shot well wide.

Hassan Al-Haydos drives an effort wide. Republic of Ireland have been decent enough so far but does feel like they could do with another goal. As Jack pointed out below, Qatar don't look a poor side.

Saturday's defeat may not look so bad if Luxembourg can pull off another result.

Jack Tanner: You can't read too much into friendlies but this would be a decent win for Ireland. Qatar are a good side, current Asian champions no less, and might cause one or two shocks in their home wc next winter. Underestimate them at your peril
