Newcastle boss Steve Bruce says West Ham counterpart David Moyes is his manager of the year.

"For his achievements at Everton, what he'd done, he got the top job and for me, he didn't get long enough at it [the Manchester United job]," said Bruce.

"He's shown his resilience, what he is as a man and as a person, and that's why he's been successful and managed in the Premier League [for so long].

"He's proved again what a top-class manager he is and he's already got my vote as manager of the year. To get West Ham in the top four - and it's not just that, it's the recruitment, what he's brought in and how they've managed.

"They've done very, very well. I'm really pleased for Moyesy, of course I am."

West Ham boss David Moyes says finishing in the top four would be a bigger achivement than when he did it with Everton in 2005.

"This would be a bigger achievement because this is my first full season at West Ham," Moyes said.

"Last year when I came in it was really only to avoid relegation, and even the time before it was to avoid relegation.

"This is really the first time I've been given the opportunity to manage from a pre-season to the end of the season and I've got myself challenging around the top.

"At Everton I'd been there for three or four years when I got them in the Champions League."

Pogba re-joined United in 2016 for a then-world record £89m when Mourinho was manager at the Old Trafford club.

But the pair fell out by the time Mourinho was sacked in December 2018.

"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, "Pogba told Sky Sports., external "Everybody saw that and the next day you don't know what happened."

The 28-year-old France international added: "That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know."

He limped off in stoppage time with an apparent ankle injury after seemingly to land awkwardly after jumping for a header when defending a corner late on.

There are only eight days until Tottenham play Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and 57 before England's European Championship campaign begins.

Gylfi Sigurdsson also scored twice for the Toffees with the draw doing little for either side's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
