It's not just in England where fans have made their feelings known about the European Super League.

Real Madrid went top of the table on Wednesday with a 3-0 win at Cadiz after getting a frosty reception from the home supporters, who shouted "money grabbers" at Zinedine Zidane's side as they arrived for the match.

As well as Barca, Atletico Madrid and Real have also signed up to the ESL although Atletico have since pulled out.

Real's next game is on Saturday against Real Betis, who caused a stir on social media shortly after the breakaway league was announced by issuing an 'updated' version of the Liga table without Real, Barca and Atletico.

In Spain, we are a completely different type of fan. We don't act against things we think are unfair. In England, it is more like a lifestyle. They are taking something off you and you go out to try to get it back.

Florentino Perez has been untouchable for many years. But this vision did not really have strong foundations so the media are having a bit of a laugh here.

We are all very surprised Joan Laporta and Barcelona have not come out and pushed away from this idea. But, they are so desperate for money that they think whoever comes up with the right idea, they will just join in.

We are a little bit disappointed by the leaders of the two biggest clubs in Spain.

    Barcelona v Getafe (21:00 BST)

It's already been a busy night at the Nou Camp.

In the past couple of hours, Barcelona have released a statement about their involvement in the European Super League.

They remain committed to the project and add: "It would have been a historical error to turn down the opportunity to be part of this project as one of its founding members."

The European Super League might be on "standby" but the race for the title in Spain is really hotting up.

After Real Madrid beat Cadiz on Wednesday to go top, Atletico Madrid responded earlier today by moving three points clear at the summit with a 2-0 victory over Huesca.

Now it's Barca's turn. If Ronald Koeman's side beat Getafe they will move above Sevilla into third spot - and two points behind second-placed Real with one game in hand.
