Everyone expected this one to be Portugal v Italy - a battle of the last two European champions.
But North Macedonia, ranked 67th in the world, go to Porto looking to qualify for the World Cup for the first time, having stunned Italy 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Aleksandar Trajkovski's injury-time strike from outside the box was the difference in Palermo.

What this showdown ensures is that one iconic centre forward will be missing from the action in Qatar.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back from suspension for this final, having missed the semi-final win over the Czech Republic. Will it be he or Poland's Robert Lewandowski absent from the big global event at the end of this year?
The pair sure have some goals between them. Ibrahimovic has 62 Sweden goals from 120 caps, the first of which the 40 year old earned in 2001.
Lewandowski is seven years younger but has more caps and goals - 128 appearances yielding 74 goals.

This is likely to be Cristiano Ronaldo's last shot at a World Cup unless he plays on until he's 41.
He is the all-time top scorer in men's international football with 115 goals, including seven across four World Cups.
He led his country to glory in Euro 2016, but this is likely to be his final chance to win a World Cup.

Blagoja Milevski, who replaced Igor Angelovski after Euro 2020, has only lost one of his eight games in charge.
"We won against one of the best teams in the world [Italy]," said Milevski. "We won't stop here. We have one last step to get to the World Cup.
"We are well on our way to confirming why we are among the top 20 teams in Europe."

Poland had the easier route to reaching this World Cup play-off final by virtue of not having to play all in their semi. Russia's exclusion meant they received a bye straight through to the game at the Stadion Slaski.
Sweden had to go through 120 minutes of action with Czech Republic, with Robin Quaison's extra-time goal proving enough to settle the tie.
Prior to that, the Swedes came second in qualifying Group B behind Spain, while Poland were runners-up to England in Group I.

Portugal had to ride their luck a bit to reach this final in Porto.
They beat Turkey 3-1 in the semi-final, but the Turks missed a late penalty at 2-1 before Portugal netted an injury-time third.
Having said that they were only seconds away from qualifying automatically last November before Aleksandar Mitrovic's last-minute winner sent Serbia through instead.
