Tunisia are the better side by a distance, it has to be said. There is an imagination in this Tunisia side, they've got that tenacity because this World Cup clearly means the world to them.

Denmark are being patient but it's the World Cup. You've got to give it everything you've got.

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

Denmark dominated the ball at the start of the second half, but Tunisia were in the more attacking areas of the pitch, but both sides failed to create any proper clear cut opportunities.

That has flipped in the last five minutes with Denmark having a dominant spell, having that goal disallowed.

    What a game we've got.

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

    Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

A complete joke. We all need to pretend it's real but that was the most obvious offside call. That one just seemed unnecessary to keep on playing. Even the Danes didn't celebrate that one.

  4. DISALLOWED GOAL - Denmark

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

Andreas Skov Olsen strikes the ball into the net for Denmark after a rebound had fallen into his path but the assistant's flag is then raised, and rightly so, after a team-mate was offside when he collected the ball earlier in the move.

That's the second time we've seen the ball in the net - once for each side - only for an extremely late flag to halt the celebrations.

Anon: Nothing like the World Cup. England winning 6-2 and Argentina losing to Saudi Arabia. Who would've expected this? England to go all the way?

Anon: I believe Brazil can win the World Cup as their attack and defence is out of this world.

Anon: As much as we all want the favourites to win the WC, I wouldn't mind an underdog clinching the cup in a thriller fashion.

  6. 'So eye-catching'

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

    Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Laidouni just doesn't play football the way normal pros play. He lashes the ball out for a throw in. He has got skill as well, he is not just an idiot running around. He is so eye-catching. If this match does end up as a draw, my money is on him getting the Man of the Match award.

  7. Post update

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

Aissa Laidouni is everywhere, getting his team-mates and fans pumped up with celebrating things like sliding challenges.

He then goes on an insane run after getting the ball 70 yards from goal. He plays a one-two and is through clear of the last man but, with the energy-sapping run getting to him and Laidouni's legs feeling the pain, Andreas Christensen just about gets back in time to make a challenge.

What a run that was though. Tunisia will fancy their chances of the three points here. They've been superb so far.

  8. 'Extraordinary atmosphere'

    Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

    John Bennett

BBC World Service Sport at the Educaion City Stadium

The atmosphere here is extraordinary. Given the noise that the Tunisia fans are making, the North African side are basically playing at home.

It’s a cacophony of whistles when Denmark are on the ball and when Tunisia go forward the sound of their support is immense.

I’ve been impressed by Tunisia. If I’m honest, having seen them at AFCON 2021, I wasn’t expecting much from them but they’ve more than matched the Euros semi-finalists.

And it’s great to see Youssef Msakni impressing on the world stage. He missed the last World Cup due to injury and at his best he is tremendous to watch.

Noah: Everyone before this tournament saying that it’s already decided and writing nations off are wrong. It’s been proved wrong today and who knows what more upsets are on the way.

We're back under way. Tunisia storm down the right inside the opening seconds through Mohamed Drager but his cross is turned behind with the corner being dealt with by Denmark.

  13. 'Cannot wait for the second half'

    HT: Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

    Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Tunisia have had a good number of chances, certainly Kasper Schmeichel has made the one outstanding save of the game so far. He was one on one, Jebali got himself in a wonderful position, he will be gutted with himself obviously that he didn't score but I will put that down to good goalkeeping as well.

Most of the players that have caught the eye, have been from Tunisia, except Christian Eriksen and his set pieces. I've liked Abdi in midfield, the three Tunisia defenders at the back.

Laidouni, can't take his eyes of him. I want a highlights reel of him, just his histrionics. This is an enticing game, this is an interesting game. This is a game where I am cannot wait for the second half, even though it is 0-0.

  18. Superb Saudi Arabia come back to stun Argentina

    FT: Argentina 1-2 Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Arabia celebrate

A bold and brilliant Saudi Arabia pulled off one of the World Cup's biggest shocks as they came from behind to stun two-time winners Argentina in a fantastic Group C opener in Lusail.

Ranked 51st in the world, Saudi Arabia could have been done and dusted in the first half as Lionel Messi opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Argentina had three goals ruled out for offside.

But Saudi Arabia flipped the game on its head in a stunning 10-minute period after half-time, Saleh Al-Shehri levelling with a low effort and Salem Al Dawsari firing them ahead to spark pandemonium in the stands.

Having shown their ruthlessness at one end, the Green Falcons demonstrated a ruggedness at the other, holding a stellar Argentina front line at bay to secure only their fourth World Cup win in history and throw the group wide open.

Lionel Scaloni's Argentina came into the tournament among the favourites, on the back of a 36-game unbeaten run that included winning the 2021 Copa America.

They now have it all to do to keep alive their hopes of a first global triumph since 1986 and give Messi a fitting ending to what is very likely his World Cup swansong.

They face Mexico on Saturday, while Saudi Arabia take on Poland.

    HT: Denmark 0-0 Tunisia

That late Issam Jebali chance was the best of the first half according to the expected goals stat.

It has an xG of 0.465, and contributes to a total of 0.76 for Tunisia in the first half.

That is well clear of Denmark's 0.16 and shows how they have been the better team.
