The teams are slowly making there way back out.

Switzerland have got a job on their hands here. Boss Murat Yakin talked up his team heading into this contest but after a decent start the tide of the match appeared to have swayed towards Cameroon.

Meanwhile, Rigobert Song's message would've been 'more of the same lads'.

  2. Narrowing it downpublished at 11:02 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

Switzerland traditionally struggle for goals and their narrow formation is not helping them threaten.

With Xherdan Shaqiri (23) and Ruben Vargas (17) tucked in, they're not finding space and Cameroon are able to keep them at arms' length.

On the other side, the Indomitable Lions are much more fluid, with Martin Hongla (18) pushing up to support Eric Choupo-Moting (18) and Nouhou Tolo (12) and Bryan Mbeumo (20) making sure there are options out wide.

The theme of that half has definitely been Cameroon's pacey counter attacks. That said whenever the ball does go near their own goal it is very much panic stations.

With a very rushed clearance at the back post being blasted out for the corner from which Manuel Akanji really should have broken the deadlock from.

  4. Mbeumo's marauding runs making a difference for Cameroonpublished at 10:54 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

    HT: Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

Bryan Mbeumo has been a threat so far for Cameroon and Brentford fans will recognise his dynamism down the right hand side.

He's not content to stick there though with his touchmap showing his willingness to maraud across the front line.

After the Bees victory at the Etihad just before the World Cup break, Manchester City's Manuel Akanji has probably not enjoyed seeing him again.

It is a shame that this game is 0-0, it has deserved a goal.

It hasn't been great but the two teams are very well matched.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 10:51 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

A goalless but entertaining half draws to an end. Still can't believe we haven't seen at least one goal. There've been enough good chances to provide one.

  7. Akanji misses glaring opportunity for Switzerlandpublished at 46 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

Huge chance for Switzerland to snatch a half-time lead.

Remo Freuler swings a corner in from the left and Manuel Akanji connects five yards out.

The Manchester City defender has a free header but it skims off his forehead and goes wide. How did he miss from there?

In the last five minutes it's been noticeable that Frank Anguissa is starting to bomb forward more for Cameroon.

  10. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

A good spell of possession for Cameroon who work the ball down the right but can't find a way through a stacked Swiss defence.

Eric Choupo-Moting tries his luck from the edge of the box but sees his shot blocked. Still they've had three very decent chances and the Swiss are yet to register an effort on target.

Shaqiri is one of those players. You know the quality is there but it can be a big infuriating because he's not going to run around a lot.

He can be pushed out of the play if you are physical with him.

He's switched wings. I've looked at him after a few tackles and I'm not sure he fancies this.

Collins Fai goes into the book after charging into a tackle down the right and smashing a Swiss defender.

Probably just needed to put on the brakes there.

  14. Cameroon carrying the greater threatpublished at 36 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

Cameroon have clearly offered the most threat.

The sole Switzerland shot below from number 10 Granit Xhaka flew wildly over the bar. It was that bad it wasn't even worthy of an entry to be honest.

Rigobert Song will feel his side should be ahead.

Cameroon get in down the right again Eric Choupo-Moting is really causing the Switzerland defence a problem and Karl Toko-Ekambi almost gets on the end of a cross six yards out.

Cameroon are really looking comfortable here.

  17. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

Another Cameroon chance. Martin Hongla gets in down the right channel but sees his effort well saved by Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

    That's three big chances now.

  18. Cameroon's direct style serving them wellpublished at 27 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 Cameroon

Cameroon's style so far has shades of Sam Allardyce/Tony Pulis (Bolton/Stoke) but they spark into life with runners laying off Eric Choupo-Moting.

Winger v winger from Stoke's relegated sidepublished at 10:27 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

This is winger vs winger of the Stoke City relegated side of 17/18. They've both done not too bad since...Stoke not so much. I still can't get my head around who Stoke sold Choupo-Moting to and where he's been since.
