4. Earlier, Italy beat Netherlands 3-2 in third-place play-off

Croatia have a shot, sort of.

Well a half-swipe really as Marcelo Brozovic doesn't connect well with the ball and his effort skids into the stomach of a Spain defender.

Spain make a switch as Gavi is replaced by former Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.

Even the Croatian fans cheer his arrival on to the pitch.

OFF THE LINE!

Spain are inches away from a winner. Jordi Alba sets up Mikel Merino whose cut-back finds Ansu Fati.

The substitute controls the ball and passes it towards the bottom corner, but back-tracking Ivan Perisic is able to block it, standing next to the far post.

Croatia are more open, the ones trying to force things as this final trickles towards full-time. Luka Modric chips the ball over to Ivan Perisic but the wing-back's through-ball to Nikola Vlasic is too heavy.

Ah unlucky. Ivan Perisic's cut-back is blocked by Aymeric Laporte and then the ball bounces off the Spurs man and out for a goal kick.
