  2. James 'honoured' to captain Wales

    USA v Wales (21:00 BST)

    Angharad James

It will be a proud moment for Angharad James when she leads Wales out tonight.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder takes over the captaincy from Sophie Ingle, who is suspended.

"When Gemma [Grainger, Wales head coach] told me it was a very proud moment," said 29-year-old James.

"I'm honoured to lead the girls out. Something I hadn't thought of up until now - for me and my family it will be a great moment, a dream come true.

"I would do anything to have Sophie in the team. But it's a dream come true to be captain."

  3. Wales team news - Fishlock and Ingle out

Jess Fishlock, who was a major doubt after getting injured playing for club side OL Reign, misses out entirely tonight.

We already knew captain Sophie Ingle would not be involved due to suspension, so midfielder Angharad James wears the armband.

Forward Mary McAteer, 19, could make her debut from the bench.

Wales: Clark; Woodham, Ladd, Evans, Roberts; J Green, James (capt), Holland; Cain, Jones, K Green.

  4. USA team news - Morgan starts, no Rapinoe

    USA v Wales (21:00 BST)

There's no place in the USA starting line-up for megastar Megan Rapinoe, who has announced she will be retiring at the end of this season.

But another icon of the game, Alex Morgan, does start up front. Morgan has a whopping 121 goals from her previous 206 caps.

Midfielder Lindsey Horan captains the team.

USA: Naeher; Fox, Girma, Dunn, Cook; Sanchez, Horan (capt), Sullivan; Smith, Thompson, Morgan.

  5. Hello and welcome

    USA v Wales (21:00 BST)

Noswaith dda! Good evening and welcome to our coverage of this evening's friendly match between four-time world champions USA and Wales.

This is the Americans' final game before travelling to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand later this month.

Wales have not qualified for that tournament but this is their first chance to test themselves against the best team on the planet.

The scene is set at PayPal Park in San Jose so, without further ado, let's have a look at the teams...
