    Ireland were magnificent in that first 15 minutes, tackles flying in, creating chances, we get the goal and then unfortunately we made a mistake and the Netherlands punish you straight away.

    The sides go in level after a cracking opening 45 minutes in Dublin.

    The Republic made a blistering start with Adam Idah netting a penalty but their momentum was halted by another spot-kick, this time from Liverpool's Cody Gapko.

    Both teams have created chances and this looks like a game with more goals in it.

    The Dutch are struggling to play out from the back and that's in large part because of the high intensity pressing of the hosts.

    We're into a calmer period of what has been a pulsating first half.

    The hosts threaten as Chiedozie Ogbene drills in a shot which is blocked out for another Republic corner - the Dutch manage to clear this time.

    The Republic have regained their composure after the Netherlands leveller and are again looking dangerous.

    Virgil van Dijk wins a free-kick in the box after a tussle with Adam Idah - it was a close call!

    The whistle saves the Dutch captain as Idah manages to get the ball and only had the keeper to beat.

    The Republic are wobbling a bit after conceding the equaliser.

    Ireland need to regroup now and get back to where they were. They have been magnificent until that penalty.

    Cody Gapko pen 19 mins

    It's against the run of play but the sides are level as Liverpool forward Cody Gapko fires his penalty into the bottom corner.

    Gapko set up the chance after a poor header from Matt Doherty, with his pinpoint throughball sending Denzel Dumfries clear on goal.

    Gavin Bazunu halted his run and picked up a yellow card for the foul.

    It's helter-skelter stuff from the Republic and it's working a treat so far.

    It's a good high press from Ireland. They are making it very difficult for the Dutch to get out of their half.

    The Irish are hustling and harrying the Dutch at every opportunity and the visitors are well out of their comfort zone.

    Lift-off. The Aviva Stadium has seen some dark times in recent years but it is absolutely bouncing tonight.

    That was a massive moment in Adam Idah's career, but boy did he stay cool under pressure.
