All times stated are UK

  1. GOAL: Bristol Rovers 2-1 Whitby

    Luke Thomas (18 mins)

Short-lived joy perhaps for Whitby fans, as a wonderful goal by Bristol Rovers turns the scoreline against them again.

Luke Thomas scores it with a super run through the defence and smart finish.

  2. GOAL: Ramsgate 0-1 Woking

    Dennon Lewis (13 mins)

The first former Love Island contestant to score on first-round day.

Dennon Lewis is sent through to slot past Rams keeper Tom Hadler and put the National League side ahead at the home of their Isthmian League South East opponents - one of two tier eight sides left in the competition.

  3. GOAL: Bristol Rovers 1-1 Whitby

    Junior Mondal (13 mins)

What a moment for Junior Mondal!

The Whitby man has lashed in from the edge of the box to give those four bus loads of Seasiders fans something to cheer.

Great response from the seventh-tier boys!

    Whitby Town celebrate scoring
  4. GOAL: Stockport 1-0 Worksop

    Kyle Wootton (14 mins)

75 places separate the League Two leaders from the Northern Premier League visitors and it's taken less than 15 minutes for the prolific Kyle Wootton to slot home from close range to put County on their way.

They have won 11 straight games. A juggernaut of momentum.

  5. Around the grounds

    #bbcfacup

National League Aldershot have started off superbly at League Two Swindon as they have a 3-0 lead thanks to a Jack Barham double and Joshua Stokes strike. Three goals in the first nine minutes. Incredible.

Yeovil of the National League South have also gone in front against National League Gateshead through Rhys Murphy.

Yeovil are on some run, this would be their ninth win a row if things were to stay like this.

  6. Post update

So, two of the five seventh-tier sides, Marine and Whitby, are already behind.

Plenty of time for things to change...

  7. GOAL: Bristol Rovers 1-0 Whitby

    John Marquis (5 mins)

Seventh-tier Whitby knew this was going to be a tough encounter down at Bristol Rovers.

John Marquis is a prolific scorer in League One and coolly sticks away a low ball in from the right to put the hosts in front.

John Marquis celebrates scoring for Bristol Rovers
  8. GOAL: Marine 0-1 Harrogate

    Abraham Odoh (6 mins)

Big goal for out-of-form Harrogate to steady the nerves at a vibrant Rossett Park.

Abraham Odoh buries one into the roof of the Marine net for the League Two side, and the Sulphurites can relax.

The Northern Premier League Premier Division side have an early set-back.

  9. Post update

    Cambridge United 0-0 Bracknell

    Marc Webber

    BBC Final Score

An injury woe has hit Bracknell.

Regular keeper Simon Grant suffered a tendon injury last week and is not here.

So, second choice keeper Michael Eacott is in the starting XI.

But there is no other nominated keeper on the subs bench. So, if Eacott has to come off, centre-forward Ben Harris will put on the gloves!

Shades of Harry Kane when he stepped up for Spurs.

  10. KICK-OFF

    #bbcfacup

    It's on folks in our 30 15:00 GMT kick-offs.

There have been plenty of remembrance tributes as well.

Cambridge United v Bracknell (15:00 GMT)

    Marc Webber

    BBC Final Score

It’s the magic of the FA Cup (cake)!

The celebratory desert has been handed out to the press box ahead of Cambridge United and Bracknell Town

94 places separate the League One and Southern Premier South sides. Both are mid-table so far this season.

Cambridge are used to being the Goliaths, having knocked out Newcastle United two seasons ago.

Bracknell are looking to get past the first round for the first time - their two previous attempts have resulted in defeats without scoring a goal.

  13. Game on at Edgar Street

    Hereford v Gillingham (15:00 GMT)

    Laura Kenyon

    BBC Final Score

The rain has been pouring in the cathedral city but pitch inspection passed. Groundsman’s esteemed reputation intact. Never in doubt. Game on.

  14. 'This little cup run has really put a smile on people's faces'

Chesham United v Maidstone United (15:00 GMT)

    Taskmaster presenter Alex Horne

    Speaking of Chesham United...

Taskmaster presenter Alex Horne is taking on his own challenge as he helps his football club to gear up for the FA Cup.

Horne became a director of non-league side Chesham United last year after getting involved through his sons, who play for the youth teams.

He said it was a "no-brainer" when the club's chairman asked him to become a director, following a charity match at the ground.

Horne, who has lived in Chesham for 20 years, has been at the ground "sorting various things" in preparation for the match.

"I posted a video online to explain to people how it can work, as we're not used to this.

"There's going to be 3,000 people at least at the stadium - and we normally get around 400 to 600," he said.

    Read more on this here.

  15. Elsewhere in the FA Cup today

    #bbcfacup

Here's a little look at some of the other fixtures which caught our eye...

Chesham United who play in the seventh tier of English football welcome Maidstone United.

The Southern League Premier Division side are looking to reach the FA Cup second round for only a third time – they previously did so in 2015 when they beat League Two Bristol Rovers.

Maidstone United are appearing in the FA Cup first round for the first time since 2019-20, when they knocked out Torquay United.

Bolton Wanderers who sit third in League One welcome Solihull Moors who in turn are fourth in the National League.

Bolton have been eliminated at this stage in each of the last four seasons in the FA Cup. They haven’t progressed from an FA Cup tie since 2019.

Solihull have reached the FA Cup second round in four of their first five FA Cup appearances but have since been eliminated at this stage in the last two seasons, both times in replays.

  16. '700-mile round trip'

    Yeovil v Gateshead (15:00 GMT)

    John Acres

    BBC Final Score

It'll be sunshine and showers at Huish Park and the Gateshead fans making the longest round trip in English football today will be in an uncovered away end.

The groundstaff have done really well here after Storm Ciaran. Massive puddles on the car park, but the pitch looks good.

    Huish Park open stand
  17. Will Cup upset formula strike Gills?

    Hereford v Gillingham (15:00 GMT)

Out of form league team, check, making the long trip to a non-league side in good form at home, yep, two days after appointing a new boss, bingo… this is what the cup is all about.

Stephen Clemence will have just about introduced himself to everyone at Gillingham, where he was unveiled as head coach on Thursday, before they take on Hereford at Edgar Street, both names of course steeped in FA Cup folklore.

Gills have lost four of their last five League Two games, but still lie 52 places higher than the Bulls, sat 13th in National League North.

The Hereford United phoenix club are seeking a third straight home win and a place in the second round for the second time in six years. Will Gillingham be their latest scalp?

  18. Marine seek repeat of 'lockdown' cup run

    Marine v Harrogate (15:00 GMT)

Marine fans have bittersweet memories of their famous run to the FA Cup third round in 2020-21, when Tottenham arrived at Rossett Park.

Covid restrictions meant there were no fans allowed into the 3,185-capacity ground that day, but the prize money was more than welcome.

How those supporters who missed out would love to get another Premier League giant to their doors.

To keep those hopes alive, they need to overcome a Harrogate side who have lost four of the past five games.

Simon Weaver would love to give the team and their town a lift by installing them in the second round draw.

  19. Hatters seek to extend winning run against Tigers

    Stockport v Worksop (15:00 GMT)

They say form goes out of the window when it comes to the FA Cup, but Stockport and Worksop will be hoping that’s not the case.

League Two leaders County have won 11 straight games in all competitions while Worksop – some 75 places below the Hatters in the pyramid - have scored 15 goals in their four FA Cup wins and five wins in their last seven league games have hauled them into the Northern Premier League promotion race.

Stockport are seeking a fourth straight appearance in the second round, something they have not done since 1960-61.

Seventh-tier Worksop have lost four straight at this stage, the last coming against Bournemouth in 2001-02, and are seeking to beat a league team in the FA Cup for the first time since 1955-56.

  20. Seadogs ready for cup spotlight

Scarborough Athletic v Forest Green (15:00 GMT)

    Scarborough Athletic's Flamingo Land Stadium

Scarborough as a town has enjoyed league football and famous FA Cup nights in their past, and the phoenix club Scarborough Athletic are in the first round for the first time.

The sixth-tier side play at the wonderfully named Flamingo Land Stadium.

Jonathan Greening is their gaffer, and the former Manchester United and West Brom man was in the semi-finals back in 2008.

He will be looking to Lewis Maloney, their matchwinner in the past two rounds for goals.

Forest Green are a side desperate for some kind of momentum having had a miserable time following relegation.

Troy Deeney and Matthew Stevens have been the main route to goals, but with a 3G pitch over on the north Yorkshire coast, it might influence team selection.
