    Cambridge 1-0 Exeter

Exeter still defending for their lives, Cambridge should have scored from one of these penalty area melees, but Yanic Wildschut did have a chance for the Grecians just deflected wide.

Viljami Sinisalo still by far the busier goalkeeper.

It finished all square in Troy Deeney's first match at the helm for Forest Green Rovers on the edge of the Cotswolds. Lowly Rovers will probably be happy with a clean sheet and a point seeing as Gillingham sat eighth before kick-off tonight.

The other five League Two games have played anywhere from two to 10 minutes of the second half now.

Ryan Lowe will be happy at the moment at 0-0, with everything that has happened this week.

Preston shouldn't just sit back. As the game goes on they should have a bit more of a foray into it and add a bit of attacking play.

HT: Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

    Sophie Hurcom
    BBC Sport at Ashton Gate

Bristol City might have a few reasons to feel disappointed to be going in at the break 2-1 down after enjoying more chances and looking the more creative for the bulk of the half although their failure to capitalise on their threat has been a repeated problem this season.

It was also hard to tell what the penalty that put Hull in front was even awarded for at first, as a free kick came into the box and the players all grouped together.

Jacob Greaves was adjudged to have been fouled but there was minimal contact if so.

  12. League One half-time headline: Cambridge 1-0 Exeterpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

HT: Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

    Gary Owers
Former Bristol City midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

Bristol City lost their momentum. Hull will think they had the opportunities to go into the break in the lead and be well worth it.

The home side played well, but over the 45 minutes did not do enough.

  14. League Two half-time headlinespublished at 20:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

Bradford have come from behind to make it 2-1 at Doncaster Rovers, Tyler Smith with the strike just before first half injury time commenced.

Doncaster took an early lead - Joe Ironside their top scorer this season again with the goal. But this was nullified by Bradford's hotshot Andy Cook, his 11th of the season.

AFC Wimbledon lead at Crawley thanks to goals from Josh Davison and Ali Al-Hamadi - the Iraq striker's 11th goal in 10 games for the club.

Joe Taylor has put Colchester 1-0 up at home to Salford, assisted by Northern Irish international midfielder Cam McGeehan.

The only goalless game is the one not at half-time but nearer full-time; Troy Deeney’s Forest Green Rovers caught in a stalemate with Gillingham.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Crewe 0-1 Barrow

They played four minutes of half-time stoppage time at the Mornflake Stadium which allowed Gerard Garner a chance to extend the away side's lead, but his header went just over the bar.

Second-placed Barrow lead thanks to Ben Whitfield's clinical finish just before the half-hour mark.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 0-0 Preston

As BBC Wales colleague Gareth Vincent beautifully put it - inspiration is in short supply at the Liberty tonight.

Jamal Lowe has had a goal chalked off and been denied by Dai Cornell.

That's pretty much the best of it, other than Duane Holmes' late effort for Preston nodded wide from Liam Millar's cross.

  17. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Swansea 0-0 Preston

Hopes of a goal before half-time have been extinguished as Jamal Lowe's header hit the net but it's ruled offside before he can wheel away.

    Swansea foiled by the flag.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

Ozan Tufan celebrates giving Hull the lead at Bristol CityImage source, Rex Features

    A half of two quarters.

Bristol City made a spell of pressure pay when they scored from Tommy Conway's spot-kick after a Jacob Greaves hand-ball.

Hull fought back and Aaron Connolly levelled before a penalty of their own for a foul on Greaves was dispatched by Ozan Tufan for a half-time lead.

    What more awaits us?

  19. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Bristol City 1-2 Hull City

Just seen that penalty call again.

I think it might be a push on Jacob Greaves by Cameron Pring. Greaves hit the deck.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2023

    Stockport 1-0 Notts County

Kyle Wootton's 10th league goal of this season sees the League Two table-toppers, Stockport, lead at the break.
