  1. PENALTY APPEAL

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall goes down in the Ipswich area once more, and again is incensed at the lack of a spot-kick awarded.

The ref got it right last time but this one looked much more marginal.

Cameron Burgess cut across Dewsbury-Hall - clumsy at best.

  2. GREAT SAVE!

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Conor Chaplin stings the palms of Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen, who flies to his right to turn away his fierce drive from the edge of the area with his weaker right foot.

The ball returns to Chaplin moments later but he leans back as he fires over the bar from the edge of the box with his trusty left.

Ipswich are building up a head of steam.

  3. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Aaron Paul

    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

This is opening up nicely now, Ipswich are pushing, and the crowd are raising their game too.

BUT - crucially, the Leicester backline are doing their best Gandalf 'you shall not pass' impressions.

  4. 'That would have been one of the assists of the season'

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Matt Piper

Former Foxes winger on BBC Radio Leicester

As much as I love what Patson Daka has done in recent weeks he cannot do hold up play like Kelechi Iheanacho just did.

That would have been one of the assists of the season.

It still feels that Leicester need that second goal, it still feels like they could get something from this game.

  5. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Sweeper keeper Vaclav Hladky flies out of his box to slide in and hack away a bouncing ball to prevent Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall a golden chance to double the advantage.

All the while it's only 1-0 Ipswich are bang in this, and Leicester know it.

  6. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Leif Davis ends Ipswich's wait for a shot on target - which goes back more than two-and-a-half hours to their derby with Norwich - with a shot which deflects into the midriff of Mads Hermansen.

  7. SUBSTITUTION

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Conor Chaplin tries an audacious 45-yard attempt after spotting Mads Hermansen off his line but the City keeper is able to backtrack and claw the ball away to avoid ignominy.

Patson Daka is withdrawn by Enzo Maresca for Kelechi Iheanacho, before Marcus Harness is lucky to escape a quickfire second yellow after another late challenge.

Breathless stuff as the atmopshere intensifies. The quality is ebbing away, however.

  8. 'Not a spare seat in the entire away end'

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Brenner Woolley

    BBC Radio Suffolk commentator

    Leicester fans

Not a spare seat in the entire Leicester away end.

Of course it was Christmas time 13 years ago when they had that infamous snow game.

  9. YELLOW CARD

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Yellow card

Marcus Harness goes into the book for the hosts after a lunge on Harry Winks to reduce the Ipswich deficit in the caution count, at least.

  10. YELLOW CARD

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Ricardo Pereira goes into the book for a late challenge on Jack Taylor who is a magnet for fouls at the moment.

  11. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's deep free-kick picks out Jannik Vestergaard but the City defender opts to try to head home from an impossible angle rather than nod back into the middle and diverts wide.

  12. SUBSTITUTION

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Cesare Casadei is coming on to replace Wilfred Ndidi after that yellow.

Ultra cautious from Enzo Maresca, though of course he has played a lot of football lately too.

  13. 'Leicester a great threat on the break'

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Mick Mills

Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

Another good move by Leicester, they get the free man over on the far touchline.

Ipswich have to have great concentration as this team are a great threat on the break.

  14. YELLOW CARD

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Just had to do a headcount because it honestly looks like Leicester have 13 on the field at some points when they get the ball in midfield.

Wilfred Ndidi picks up just his second booking of the season after a, clever, shall we say, foul to prevent an Ipswich break after the visitors lose possession. A rarity.

  15. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Another chance for City. Abdul Fatawu tries an acrobatic volley from Stephy Mavididi's dinked cross to the far post but he can only power into the ground and the bounce takes it over the bar.

He was not that far out so that has to go down as a good chance.

Next goal is absolutely vital, as cliche as that sounds.

  16. Post update

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

End-to-end stuff as Wilfred Ndidi is played in down the left of the box but opts to clip a cross past the far post rather than having a real crack from an angle.

Ipswich pop down the other end and a right-wing cross ends up at the feet of Leif Davis, whose low shot is charged down.

    Breathless.

  17. CLOSE!

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

Positive start from Ipswich and an early corner.

    Exactly like the first half.

And it comes to nothing, exactly like the first half.

Cameron Burgess really might have done better with a near-post header from a Leif Davis corner but powers into the crowd rather than the net.

  18. 'What an exciting half we are in for'

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Matt Piper

Former Foxes winger on BBC Radio Leicester

Welcome back to the way Ipswich started the game.

They have kicked off the most aggressively this half.

Recent games have seen Leicester fly out of the traps too.

What an exciting half we are in for.

  19. KICK-OFF

    Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

The second half is under way... what impact will Kieran McKenna's half-time team-talk have on the hosts?

You do feel Enzo Maresca's men would need at least one more goal here - Ipswich haven't created too much yet but they have scored at least two in every home game this season.

  20. 'Big 45 minutes ahead for Ipswich'

    HT: Ipswich 0-1 Leicester

    Aaron Paul

    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

Ipswich started fast, but the loss of George Hirst has hit them. Leicester know their strengths, and so Stephy Mavididi's bit of magic came as no surprise.

The Ipswich analysts will have a field day when looking back at Harry Clarke's positioning, BUT, this is McKennaBall - high risk...and sometimes no reward.

Leicester have been able to play through the lines since, but everyone knows that they have the ability to do that. Ipswich need to calm down, reset, and come out ready for a BIG 45 minutes.
