That is a Pat Jennings save! It's gone to his right and the deflection has taken it to his left and he's managed to hook it out with his left foot.

He did well, his reactions were good there.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

Andreas Christensen has a go from 25 yards and Conor Hazard manages to (somewhat unconventionally) save with his legs as he flew to his right.

It must have taken a touch on the way through as that nearly caught the keeper out.

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

This is Denmark's best period of the game, we just can't get out of our own half at the minute.

  5. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

It actually came off Eoin Toal's head for that Hazard save.

He's kept Northern Ireland in this one.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

So close! Joachim Andersen gets a touch on the corner but Conor Hazard manages to bat the ball away.

He would have seen that very, very late. Super save and great reactions.

  7. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

Paddy McNair is forced to concede a corner after some heavy Danish pressure. Another chance for the visitors.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

Dolberg is inches away from putting Denmark in front!

Victor Kristiansen plays in a low cross and the forward gets a good connection on it, but he can't get the direction right and it flies wide of the upright.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

After avoiding a booking for his first tackle, Trai Hume empties Hjulmand and gets shown a yellow card this time around.

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

That's the one danger we have to be careful of. We're pressing and we're doing well at this end of the field. However, when they get on the ball they move very quickly and O'Riley had broke clear and to be fair, you can't complain about getting booked there!

  13. CLOSE!published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

Andersen's first-time effort is going well wide but it takes a touch O'Riley and the ball almost goes in slow motion as it just rolls the wrong side of the post.

That was hold your breath stuff!

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Denmark

George Saville goes into the book for pulling back Matt O'Riley. No complaints about that one.

Palace defender Andersen has a very ambitious effort from about 30 yards and it goes exactly how you would expect.

If you came in looking at the game and you didn't know who was top of the group and who had only beat San Marino, it would be difficult to see which is which and probably Northern Ireland have had the best chance of the game.

The free kick is cleared as far as Morten Hjulmand, who hits it first time and it wasn't a million miles away from giving Conor Hazard something to think about.

Mohamad Daramy is pulled back by Trai Hume and wins a free-kick.

The Reims forward was rolling around like he'd been wiped out by the ankles, which was a little dramatic.

While Northern Ireland's teamsheet suggested a 5-3-2 formation, it does look a bit more like that 5-2-2-1 from Friday night in the early stages.

Rather than playing in a front two with Dion Charles, Dale Taylor is spending a lot of time just in behind on the left, with Isaac Price doing the same just to the right.

And, over 20 minutes in, it has to be said that it is working quite well.
