  1. KICK-OFF

    Morton 0-0 Motherwell

    We're under way in Greenock.

The Motherwell fans have packed out the Wee Dublin End. Fireworks and everything.

    The Scottish Cup hits different.

  2. We've got you covered

You won't miss a thing from the Scottish Cup fifth round on the BBC.

We've got Motherwell v Morton right now, and Airdrieonians v Hearts on Sunday on your tele via the BBC Scotland channel and iPlayer.

There's radio commentary of Hibernian v Inverness CT and Rangers v Ayr Utd on Saturday; then St Mirren v Celtic and Airdrieonians v Hearts on Sunday.

You can access all of that and live text updates right here on the BBC Sport website.

Plus Sportscene has highlights of all the action on Saturday and Sunday night.

That includes the Premiership meeting between Dundee and St Johnstone on Sunday.

    Scottish football lives right here!

  3. Ouch!

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

I think he's alright, so it's fair game to bring this rather unfortunate incident up.

Not so long ago, Bevis Mugabi was down receiving treatment after being skelped in the face by a ball from the Morton goalkeepers warming up.

It did look a sore one, it must be said, but I'd be telling fibbies if I said a few folk didn't have a wee chuckle at it...

  4. Kettlewell demands 'desire'

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Motherwell Manager Stuart Kettlewell is interviewed by BBC during a Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fifth round match between Greenock Morton and Motherwell at Cappielow Park

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells Sportscene: "It's been a quick turnaround for us, it's our third game in six days.

"But the players are in a good place and we're going to be well backed here from our supporters.

"I love this competition and I want the players to show they've got the same appetite. We're going to need every ounce of desire to get into the next round of the cup."

  5. 'Pressure on Motherwell' - Imrie

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Morton manager Dougie Imrie tells Sportscene his message to his squad before this tie.

"Just to believe in themselves," he says. "The pressure is on Motherwell. They're the Premiership team coming here.

"They've got good players in their team who can hurt us, and experienced players who have played international football as well.

"So it's just about enjoying the occasion and seeing where they go."

  6. We've got history

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

These pair are familiar foes despite not having played in the same league since 1988.

They've met in the League Cup group stages, and most recently in the Scottish Cup in 2021 and 2022.

Both ties went to extra time, with Motherwell scoring a last-minute winner two seasons ago to win 2-1, and triumphing on penalties the campaign before after a 1-1 draw.

All five goals in those ties happened in extra-time.

I wouldn't be shocked if we went the distance again!

  7. Feed the Bair

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Is there a more improved player in the Premiership this season than Motherwell striker Theo Bair?

The Canadian has six goals in his last seven games. He was immense against Ross County the other night, albeit a bit wasteful given the chances he had.

But in general play he was great. This piece gives some good insight into his form.

  8. Where's the love for Dougie?

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Dougie Imrie is not often linked with 'bigger' (sorry Morton fans) jobs, which seems strange.

Since taking charge of Morton in December 2021, when the club was looking at relegation, he not only kept them up but made them play-off contenders in the last two seasons.

Ok, there are more experienced managers out there. But he's made a small budget go a long way at Cappielow.

  9. Lights, camera, action

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

    Sportscene's coverage has just started.

Click the button at the top of the page to watch it. It's also on BBC iPlayer and BBC Scotland.

Morton have just announced that home tickets are now sold out. Impressive.

There's a big Motherwell support in town, too. Should be a cracker.

  10. Goal of the season?

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Blair Spittal put in one of the best individual performances of the season on Tuesday night against Ross County.

He was involved in everything, and grabbed two brilliant goals.

The second one below, my word. Watch it.

  11. Morton's roll

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Morton are one of the form teams in Scotland right now, which makes this tie even more compelling.

The Greenock side are unbeaten in 12 games, winning nine. They've scored 10 goals without reply in their last three matches, including a 5-0 thumping of Dunfermline last time out.

    Flying.

Morton's Robbie Crawford celebrates with teammate Cameron Blues (R) after his shot comes off Jack McMillan (not in frame) and deflects into the net to make it 1-0 during a cinch Championship match between Greenock Morton and Partick Thistle at Cappielow Park
  12. Miller starts for Motherwell

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Motherwell make just one change from Tuesday's 5-0 win against Ross County.

Andy Halliday, who was forced off with a slight injury in that match, drops to the bench and fellow midfielder Lennon Miller comes in to start for the first time since his injury.

Striker Jonathan Obika is back among the subs after his own injury issues.

  13. Same again for Morton

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

Unsurprisingly, Dougie Imrie sticks with the same XI which hammered Dunfermline 5-0 at the weekend.

Forwards George Oakley and Robbie Muirhead have scored 24 goals between them this season.

  14. LINE-UPS from Cappielow

  15. It's back

    Morton v Motherwell (19:30)

The Scottish Cup trophy during a Greenock Morton press conference at Cappielow Park

The Scottish Cup fifth round (aka the last 16) is here.

Look at the trophy in all its glory, enjoying a day in Greenock where, miraculously, it appears to have been dry.

Anyway, Premiership side Motherwell are the visitors to Cappielow tonight.

You can follow updates and watch the game right here. First up, team news...
