Things are getting spicy already as Theo Hernandez catches Nicolo Barella, which prompts a clash between several players. The referee calms the situation, however.

First attempt on goal is by Inter, but it isn't a great effort as Matteo Darmian knocks a cross from the left down for Lautaro Martinez, who hits a first-time effort well over.

Here come Inter now as they work an attack down the left. Alessandro Bastoni tries to send Federico Dimarco away, but the winger is offside.

Plenty of possession for AC Milan in the opening exchanges but nothing in the way of chances just yet.

The stats certainly favour Inter. They have won each of the last five derbies, while they are currently on a club-record run of having scored in each of their last 40 Serie A matches.

AC Milan make two changes as Olivier Giroud - who has three goals and two assists in four matches against Inter - and Ismael Bennacer are out, with Yacine Adli and Tijjani Reijnders comig in.

Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also start for Milan as Rafael Leão leads the line.

For Inter Milan, Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard return from suspension to start as they also make two changes.

The supporters have been doing their part in motivating their side, giving them a hero's welcome just for training ahead of tonight's derby.

The Milan derby is often a passionate affair but there's more at stake than usual as the city rivals meet tonight.

Inter are top of Serie A and will by crowned champions by beating AC Milan, who are second, at the San Siro.

A result for AC Milan would likely only delay Inter's celebrations given they lead by 14 points in first place with just six games to go, but they will certainly take that over their rivals celebrating a derby victory and winning the title.
