Czechs a tough test for Scotlandpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 6 August 2019
Despite winning their opening game 7-0 against Ukraine on Sunday, Scotland will be taking nothing for granted against the Czech Republic in a game that many think will decide the 1-2 positions in Group B.
The Scots, who were watched by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in the win over Ukraine, lost to the Czechs in a shootout in Ireland in June, and are ranked only two places above their visitors in the world rankings.
Scotland had few alarms against Ukraine, with Lucy Lanigan and captain Kaz Cuthbert both scoring twice in a one-sided opener in Glasgow.
The Czechs looked set for a winning start against Austria when Veronika Decsyova scored with two minutes remaining, only for Austria to claim a point with captain Corinna Zerbs' goal from a penalty corner three seconds from time.
