Low-scoring Spain take on 16-goal Germanspublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 22 August 2019
Spain were the somewhat surprising group winners from Pool A, finishing ahead of the Netherlands despite scoring just one goal in each of their three games.
Their tight defence ensured that they conceded just once, however, and that solidity at the back has given them a chance of reaching their first final since 2003 when they lost to the Netherlands in Barcelona.
The Germans, by contrast, smashed home 16 goals in Pool B largely thanks to a 13-0 thumping of Belarus. Draws against England and Ireland saw them hold on to a semi-final place, maintaining their record of reaching the last four in every single edition of the EuroHockey Championships.
