The Belfast Giants secure a four point weekend as they defeat the Guildford Flames by the same score-line as last night, 3-1.

Kohei Sato opened the scoring before Peter Crinella's goal meant it was level after one period.

Daniel Tedesco scored the only goal of the second period after his one-timer flew past Taz Burman.

The Giants extended their lead in the final period when Will Cullen's effort from the left circle found the top of the net.

Adam Keefe's men return to action next Saturday as they welcome the Dundee Stars to the SSE Arena before travelling to face Fife on the Sunday night.

Brett Ferguson receives two minutes for cross-checking as well as a five minute plus game penalty for roughing meaning the Giants will have an extra skater for the rest of the game.

The Giants extend their lead on the powerplay as Bobby MacIntyre cleverly spies that Will Cullen has space in the left circle with his resulting strike sailing into the top of the net.

Both the Giants and Guildford have had chances to score in the final period and I'm sure the home fans are breathing a huge sigh of relief now they have a more comfortable advantage!

It was certainly a feisty and physical game at the SSE Arena last night, but during the first period it looked like tonight would be a lot calmer.

However, two fights in quick succession has certainly changed that and tensions have certainly started to rise.

The Giants are really pushing for another goal here with Ara Nazarian's on target effort being deflected away by Taz Burman.

Adam Keefe's men retake the lead!

Ciaran Long sends the puck across to Daniel Tedesco whose one-timer gives the home side the goal advantage with five minutes and 27 seconds gone in the second period.
