  2. What do Ospreys need?

Lions v Ospreys KO 13:00 GMT

So to hopefully save you all the head scratching, here's what Ospreys need to secure a home tie in the next round.

A bonus-point win by 43 points or more puts them as 5th seeds and a home tie.

Victory (without a bonus point) would make them seventh seeds and a home tie against stronger opposition.

Anything less than a win and they're hitting the road for the last 16.

    Simple.

    Sanele Nohamba

    Can Ospreys take advantage?

  9. How the other regions fared

Lions v Ospreys KO 13:00 GMT

Scarlets and Cardiff have both bowed out of Europe.

Scarlets were beaten 31-19 by Edinburgh on Friday night, meaning Dwayne Peel's side finished pointless and bottom of Pool 3 in the Challenge Cup.

They also became the first Welsh region to not earn a single pool point.

Cardiff also suffered a heavy defeat in their final Champions Cup pool game.

They were beaten 48-26 at Racing 92, meaning Matt Sherratt's side finished bottom of Pool 2.

It was a seventh successive defeat in the Champions Cup for Cardiff on the pitch and the first time Cardiff suffered that record in 20 years.

Dragons host Sharks in the second of our live text coverage games this afternoon.

They still have hopes of making the Challenge Cup last-16.

They know victory at Rodney Parade will guarantee their place, possibly with a home tie if other results go their way.

Scarlets played are clapped off the pitch by Edinburgh

Lions v Ospreys KO 13:00 GMT

Ivan van Rooyen and Toby Booth

Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen said: “Ospreys have been going really well. Their attack is very good and their defence is probably the most improved in the competition.

“We really want to put in a big performance especially here at home. Looking at our roster in the next few weeks and the number of tough games coming up, it’s important for us to put up a good performance this week heading into a packed schedule of local URC derbies.”

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth said: "The Lions play a slightly different game when they're at home.

"They have a stronger understanding of the conditions which they'll use to their advantage, especially in the kicking game.

"Often games like this one are about whether you can deal with the environment and whether you can adapt quickly, that will be the challenge."
