    That's your lot for swimming action today and what an end with that gold medal. We're back tomorrow from 15:30 BST with action from six finals including Fran Halsall in the women's 50m butterfly and Ben Proud in the men's 50m freestyle.

    Team GB are still fourth in the medal table across the whole World Championships: seven golds (five in the pool), one silver and five bronze. China lead the way with USA and Russia in second and third respectively.

    It's a British record as Team GB hit a time of 7:04.33, the US came second with a time of 7:04.75 and Australia came third with a time of 7:05.34.

    James Guy swam a 1 minute 44 seconds for the final 200m to claw it back for Team GB- that makes it two golds and a silver at the World Championships for the lad from Millfield.

    The team of Danny Wallace, Robbie Renwick, Calum Jarvis and James Guy have clinched gold for Team GB in the final of the men's 4x200m at the Swimming World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

    It was a slow start from the Brits and the American's led up to the final 50m, but a superbly timed swim from James Guy clawed back over 1.5 seconds in the final 200m to give Team GB their seventh gold medal of the tournament.

    Britain's men have never won a men's World Championship relay gold before...and this is an Olympic event too!

    Great Britain's Andrew Willis has narrowly missed out on a medal by four tenths of a second in the final of the men's 200m breaststroke at the Swimming World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

    Willis finished with a time of 2:08.52 in a race won by German Marco Koch, USA's Kevin Cordes came second, with Daniel Gyurta on Hungary in third.

    It's Germany's first world swimming champion for six years.

    Willis says: "I have mixed emotions about that, I do not feel as gutted as last time. I have progressed through the rounds whereas last time I have done my best in the semi-finals...I am happy overall".

    Fran Halsall has qualified for the final of the women's 50m butterfly with a time of 25.71 seconds. She was the third fastest in the event and will go through to tomorrow's final.

    Halsall said: "It was a well executed race, I just need to put a bit more power through it."

    Sarah Sjostrom qualified as fastest with a new Championship record time of 25.06 seconds.

    The battle between Chad Le Clos and Laszlo Cseh continues. Both men have qualified for the final of the men's 100m butterfly. Cseh was joint fastest with a time of 51.03, whilst Le Clos was third fastest on a time of 51.11. These two have had some good battles in the last few days, and it should be an interesting final tomorrow.

    Team GB have a reason to be proud... Ben Proud! The 20 year old has swum 21.88 and finished third in his semi-final for the men's 50m freestyle. He qualifies fifth fastest overall.

    Speaking to Sharon Davies after he says "it's great to get the buzz from an excited crowd...I wasn't expecting to get to the final, and if I can execute the race well tomorrow I'll hopefully get close to my PB"

    He's the fastest Brit ever in the event - and only three have swam the event under 22 seconds.

    It may not be going too well for Australia's cricketers at the moment but the nation's swimmers have made a blistering start to today's evening session in Kazan.

    Australia have taken three medals from the first two events of the evening with sisters Bronte Campbell and Cate Campbell winning gold and bronze respectively in the Women's 100m freestyle, while Mitchell Larkin takes Gold in the Men's 200m backstroke with a time of 1:53.58.

    Good afternoon and welcome to another enticing day at the Swimming World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

    There are a few British medal chances, with Andrew Willis in the men's 200m breaststroke final and also Team GB taking part in the final of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.

    Team GB sit fourth in the medal table with 12 medals overall, but it's China who lead the way.
