    Here’s what’s coming up today and the British competitors involved.

    Men’s 400m Freestyle (final) - James Guy

    Women’s 100m Butterfly (semi-final) - Alys Thomas

    Men’s 50m Butterfly (semi-final) – Benjamin Proud

    Men’s 100m Breaststroke (semi-final) – Ross Murdoch and Adam Peaty

    Women’s 200m Individual Medley (semi-final) – Hannah Miley and Siobhan-Marie O’Connor

    There will also be three events without GB competitors - Women’s 400m Freestyle (final), 4 x 100m Men’s Freestyle Relay (final) and 4 x 100m Women’s Freestyle Relay (final).

  3. What are the World Championships?published at 11:20 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    The World Championships are arranged by global body FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation) and take place every two years.

    This year’s event runs from 14-30 July in Budapest, Hungary. The schedule includes a variety of aquatic sports including diving, swimming, synchronised swimming, water polo, open water swimming and high diving.

    At the previous event, held in Kazan, Russia, GB came fifth in the medal table with 14 medals.
