  1. Tomorrow

What a day in prospect tomorrow.

Andy Murray will open up the day's action against Gilles Simon, or perhaps Richard Gasquet.

With the best will in the world, I think everyone hopes that James Ward can bat around a dead rubber with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the day's second match.

We'll be here for it. Hope you will be too.

  3. Video highlights

That was like Super Saturday 2012.

You need to watch it again straight away, partly because you enjoyed it so much, partly because you believed it so little the first time round.

Good news. No need to wait for the DVD. You can watch highlights at the top of this page, picking out a pinball rally and the wild celebrations that accompanied the end of the third set.

  7. Captain reaction

Captain Leon Smith: "How good was that? Everyone talked about this being a key rubber, and it certainly was. Of course there's a lot of tennis still to be played but we're in a great position. I'm immensely proud of the brothers, the chemistry between them was phenomenal. There's no egos in the team at all, everyone accepts the decisions.

"We all know each other so well, we spend a lot of time together throughout the whole year so we know how to speak to each other.

"It's a tough day tomorrow, no-one should assume it's going to be an easy game for Andy because it won't be."

    A Murray/J Murray 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 Tsonga/Mahut

    Andy Murray

Andy Murray: "We played an unbelievably high level-match against a top team in a great atmosphere. To represent your country with your brother and to win a match like this is unbelievable.

"We both served well after the first game in which I was broken. We didn't give them too many opportunities. We kept a lot of energy on the court and returned really well. That made a big difference.

"It was not so much my groin as my hip. Everyone's fallen a few times on the court. It's sore but there's only one more match then I can rest after that.

"I'll get patched-up and hopefully put on another good performance They have such a strong team, you have to be at the top of your game to win."

Andy Murray is GB's chief cheerleader as well as singles top-dog and doubles compadre. I think he would carry the water and drive the bus as well if asked.

He loves it when tennis throws off the smart-casual formalities and gets raw and raucous. That is how it is right now.

Andy Murray frothing with excitement, his French opponent downcast and the end possibly in sight.

Four more service holds and Britain are 2-1 up in the tie...

  36. France save break point, but taken to deuce

    A Murray/J Murray 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 1-0 Tsonga*/Mahut

A bit of controversy as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's second serve is punished by Jamie Murray on the opening point.

France captain Arnaud Clement claims that Tsonga's failed attempt to scrape back a volley was affected by a rogue call of "out" from the crowd.

I doubt he was. Tsonga was a good 20m away and focused on the ball.

French rattled and they offer up a break point as Mahut blasts a regulation smash wide for 30-40.

Saved! But still deuce to work their way through...
