  1. What is it and who should I look out for?

The 2021 World Triathlon Championship Series mixed relay takes centre stage in Hamburg on Sunday, 19 September in the format that provided brilliant entertainment on its Olympic debut in Tokyo.

With world champions France missing this event and Great Britain's Olympic mixed relay gold winning athletes not competing, the race will be wide open.

Great Britain are sending four athletes to Hamburg: Olivia Mathias, Daniel Dixon, Connor Bentley and Sian Rainsley, who are all in contention for the mixed relay team.

Olympic silver-medallists USA won the most recent championship series in Montreal, Canada but face tough competition from home nation Germany who have been on the mixed relay podium in Hamburg four times before and should feature women's sprint race winner Laura Lindemann.

The Hamburg leg of the series is completed over mixed relay distances of 0.3km swim, 7km bike and 1.7km run.
