Curling - Great Britain 0-0 USA

Britain have the red stones, USA the yellow. With three stones left each in the first of 10 stones, Grant Hardie nudges the only USA stone out of the house.

USA have the hammer in this end so Britain will be hoping to keep it tight in the opener.

I spoke to Shaun White in the mixed zone after qualifying on Wednesday, and I asked him how it felt to have his final Olympics under way:

"I’ve made peace with it and it feels great. I’ve thought about this day when I was younger and have been putting it off. Now that it’s here and I’m going to be retiring, I’m happy.

"I’m surprised as I thought I’d feel differently but I’m so proud of the legacy I’m leaving behind and so proud of these amazing riders coming up behind me, pushing each other every day.

"To see the sport I love to see what it is today, is just incredible."

GB's Bobby Lammie isn't too happy with his first couple of stones. He was trying to chip the USA stone out and roll in behind their guard, but has left too much of it in sight for the Americans to just come in and remove his red in the house.

Curling - Great Britain v USA (01:05 GMT)

    Thomas Duncan

It's the defending Olympic champions USA up for Bruce Mouat and co this morning.

Their gold in Pyeongchang was a bit of a shock, so much so that they're not really fancied to defend their title.

John Schuster's side have a reputation for being confident and vocal, so it should be entertaining.

It was 16 years ago when American snowboarder Shaun White won the first of three gold medals in the men's halfpipe.

Could the 35-year-old, who has been competing against some people half his age, grab another gold in what he has said will be his last Olympics?
