Suzanne Schulting is only the third person to win back-to-back gold medals in short track's 1,000m and the first person to achieve this back-to-back double since 1998.

South Korean Kim Ki-hoon won the first two Olympic men's 1,000m events in 1992 and 1994 and Kim's compatriot Chun Lee-kyung did the same double in women's short track in 1994 and 1998.

We have handshakes! It's all over and Great Britain have a great win there and don't even have to stay the distance. A brilliant way to come back from this morning's defeat by the US.

Great Britain were very dominant, Very clinical. They really set their stall out and their steal of two at the fourth end gave them the jump.

    It was perfection.

Round-robin: Norway 3-8 Great Britain (after seven ends)

Norway pick up one in the seventh end, but they needed more if they were to launch an unlikely comeback.

They walk over to the British quartet, offer a handshake and admit defeat.

After a loss to the defending champions United States earlier today, Bruce Mouat's men are back on the horse.

This was what Suzanne Schulting said in November 2020.

"What really drives me is the gold. The feeling of winning the gold medal is the best thing ever. You train so hard the whole summer just for the feeling of crossing the finish line first. I scream my guts out when I win. That feeling really keeps me motivated and it's like a drug. You want more and more and more."

No danger of going cold turkey any time soon. Schulting defended her 1000m title earlier today.

Oh, you have to say, that is magnificent.

Bruce Mouat with a lovely little double shunt scores three for Great Britain to put them almost over the horizon.

Indeed it looks for a moment like Norway might shake hands on a defeat. But no, we go on...

GB have got the hammer, they're lying two - if they can bring a third one in to lie on top of the four-foot, it will make it very hard for Norway to remove them all.

Seeing Steffen Walstad's body language. He knows.

Five of the six Olympic finals in the women's ice hockey have been contested by the United States and Canada.

The US booked their spot in the semi-finals earlier today and Canada are now well-placed to join them.

Canada, aiming to wrestle the title back from their neighbours after losing the 2018 final, are already 3-0 up against Sweden with only 17 minutes gone.

It’s very difficult to speculate. Only those in the team really know what’s going on. But sleds can be bought – some sleds are commercially available – while the British sled is actually developed in-house, and a lot of research goes into it. So that’s the sled.

Lots of rules are there so the sleds aren’t completely different to each other but they are well regulated, and then you have the runners that attach underneath, so it’s the combination of that.

I’m sure the British programme will be asking questions: How can it improve? But it’s not just about the technology. I think it’s very easy to go to that question. It’s also about learning the track, the fact that athletes are still making some small mistakes on the track. It’s a night-time race, yesterday was a morning race. The humidity’s different. There are lots of other technical things that are going on as well as the equipment.

On reports that the sleds are not running as well as they'd hoped:

It’s not just the sleds they’ll be looking at, and they will be doing their homework - how much investment and how much expertise has gone into this sled work? It will be the runners and a combination with the trust from the athletes in the sled as well. So it will be a whole package.

I wish I had the magic answer. I know that after the race everyone will be really reviewing it and charging again.

No major shake up in the order after the third run in the men's skeleton.

Two-time reigning world champion Christopher Grotheer leads the competition from German team-mate Axel Jungk.

Grotheer's advantage which is over eight tenths of a second should surely mean he'll be celebrating gold later (barring a disaster).

The race for the bronze medal is another matter altogether with seven hundredths of a second separating Russian Alexander Tretiakov, China's Yan Wengang and veteran Latvian Martins Dukurs, who is a six-time world champion and double Olympic silver medallist.

Team GB's Matt Weston is in 14th place and Marcus Wyatt is in 16th so both will also make the final heat that the top 20 qualify for.

A high-risk high-reward final stone from Norway's Steffan Walstad as he attempts a death-or-glory plant to deny Great Britain who are lying one.

And he comes up clutching only the booby prize.

Stones scattering everywhere and when we come up for air and have a measure, it is Great Britain who score two.

A big end against the head for Bruce Mouat's men.
