Devon's Heather Fell through in China World Cup

Fell has struggled to recapture the form that won her Olympic silver

Devon's Heather Fell has made it through to the final of the China World Cup in Chengdu.

Fell was joint seventh in the qualifiers alongside Lancashire's Samantha Murray, with a top-18 place needed for a berth in the final.

Scotland's Freya Prentice, who is world number one, qualifed fourth, while Katy Burke was 12th.

The World Cup series gives athletes the chance to gain Olympic qualfifying points ahead of London 2012.

The final of the women's individual event is scheduled to be held on Saturday.
