BBC Sport's Tom Rostance sums up the highs and lows of the British MotoGP at Silverstone.
Highlight of the weekend: Bradley Smith, external cheered up a sodden British public as he finished second in the Moto2 race - despite starting from 28th on the grid.
The 20-year-old from Oxford stormed through the field and saw off compatriot Scott Redding on the way to a memorable podium finish.
Disappointment of the weekend: 70,000 British fans were left devastated on Saturday afternoon when Cal Crutchlow, external crashed in qualifying and broke his left collarbone. The Coventry-born rider had been set for a top-six grid position.
Ride of the weekend: Casey Stoner turned in another flawless ride to win his third race in a row but Colin Edwards showed remarkable courage and strength to put his Tech 3 Yamaha in third just nine days after having 13 screws inserted into a broken collarbone.

Overtake of the weekend: Casey Stoner said he couldn't see though his visor for the first few laps but still managed to slip past team-mate Andrea Dovizioso to take the lead on lap two. It was a lead he would not relinquish as he celebrated his 150th Grand Prix start with his 27th win in the top class.
Crash of the weekend: Jorge Lorenzo was lucky to walk away from a huge high-side at Abbey while Moto2 rider Marc Marquez saw his bike completely destroyed after running straight into the pit wall. His team had just two hours to rebuild it but he made the grid in time to start the race.
Celebrity of the weekend: Bike-mad actor Ewan McGregor was in the paddock to watch from the sidelines. After travelling around the world on a BMW R1200GS the Trainspotting star could sympathise with the perils of motorcycling in treacherous conditions.
