Alastair Seeley secured the British Supersport Championship title at Brands Hatch on Sunday after victory in the final race of the 2011 series.
The TAS Suzuki rider from Carrickfergus trailed Ben Wilson by four points going into the race but Seeley edged out the Englishman to win the title by a point.
"I'm delighted - I felt really good all weekend and just put my head down and pushed hard," said the 32-year-old.
Michael Laverty won the opening British Superbike race on Saturday.
The Toomebridge rider crashed in Sunday's first race before coming fifth in the second to Grand Final to finish the season fourth in the standings.
Laverty's Swan Yamaha team-mate Tommy Hill won the title in thrilling fashion after he came in just 0.006 seconds ahead of John Hopkins, who was two points ahead of Hill going into the race.
Seeley went into the final weekend of the campaign with a 14-point lead over Wilson.
But he crashed out of Saturday's race as winner Wilson took over top spot although he brought the gap down to four points with a second-place in the first race on Sunday.
It all came down to the Grand Final and Wilson held an early lead before Seeley moved ahead at halfway and he pulled clear to clinch the victory and series title for the Northern Ireland based Relentless TAS Suzuki team.
He added: "This season has been awesome. There is immense talent in this class and with my stature it suits me better."
Seeley has had interest from other teams for next year but he plans to stay with the TAS team and compete in the Superbike class.
Castlerock's Marty Nutt came in 11th, 10th and 13th in the Supersport races.
