Leading Irish road racer Seamus Elliott will make his Isle of Man TT debut at this year's event.

The Ballymoney rider will contest all three 1000cc races, including the Senior TT, on a Kawasaki ZX-10R for the peoplesbike.com team.

"It is brilliant," he said. "I just want to repay the faith that the team has in me."

Mark Cubbon's team have previously competed at the TT with riders including Steve Mercer and Dan Hegarty.

The team, competing at its eighth TT, is partly funded by race fans, who have their picture on the bikes' fairings.

Elliott has already won on the Isle of Man at last year's Southern 100 held on the Billown Course, and has achieved regular podium finishes at Irish meetings.

He also achieved two top-ten finishes at last year's Ulster Grand Prix.

He said: "We've been trying to get over to the TT races for a few years, so it is brilliant that it's finally come together with such a strong team."
