More rain led to the postponement of Wednesday's Supersport and Supertwins races at the Isle of Man TT as the week's schedule fell further behind.

The Supersport race was supposed to start at 10:45 BST on Wednesday but was called off shortly after 15:00 and put back until Thursday.

Organisers still intended to run the Supertwins race on Wednesday evening but eventually had to admit defeat.

Tuesday's action on the island also fell victim to the bad weather.

Thursday's schedule at the rain-affected event will now have five races starting with a two-lap Supersport class which will get under way at 12:45 BST.

Sidecar Race Two, also over two laps, will start at 13:50 with the three-lap Superstock race scheduled to begin at 14:55 and the Supertwins event [18:30] and TT Zero [19:20] following in an evening programme.

The Superstock race was originally scheduled for Monday and then re-arranged for Tuesday with its duration now reduced from four to three laps.

In addition, the Senior TT has been brought forward to the earlier time of 10:30 on Friday as inclement weather has been forecast from mid-afternoon onwards. It had been scheduled for 12:45.

Qualifying for the Senior TT, Superstock Race and the TT Zero had also been scheduled to take place after Wednesday evening's Supertwins race.

Monday saw TT wins for Peter Hickman (Superbike), Ben and Tom Birchall (Sidecar) and a maiden victory for Lee Johnston in Supersport race one.

English rider Daley Mathison was killed in a crash during Monday's Superbike race which was reduced to two laps following the incident with Hickman being declared the winner.

Republic of Ireland rider Derek McGee sustained leg injuries in a qualifying crash on Monday but from his hospital bed later described his ailments as "a few broken bones but nothing serious".
