Welsh rider Chaz Davies is to compete in the 2024 MotoE World Championship with Aruba.it Racing.

Davies retired from World Superbike racing in 2021 after almost a decade competing at the top level.

The 36-year-old has since worked as a riding coach as well as racing part-time, including a fifth placed finish at Le Mans 24.

But he has announced he will feature in the 16-race MotoE World Championship, which runs from March until September.

Davies said on social media, external it was "time to get back down to business".

"If I'm not wrong I might just be the oldest guy on the grid, how's that for some motivation," he added.

"It's going to be a big challenge but one I look forward to tackling."

Davies was runner-up in the World Superbike title race three times - 2015, 2017 and 2018 - as well as finishing third on two occasions.
