Vicki Sutton will stand down as chief executive of both Wales Netball and Cardiff Dragons at the end of 2024.

Sutton has been involved in Welsh netball since 2020, having previously held leadership roles at Welsh Rowing.

Sutton said it has been "a pleasure to lead both businesses."

"Netball is the best sport in the world in my opinion and one that has the most potential to get even bigger in the near future.

"It’s a really exciting time for both businesses and I look forward to watching and supporting the next phase of growth from a distance."

Her notable achievements include helping Cardiff Dragons gain a 10-year Netball Super League license.

In a joint statement, Catherine Lewis (chair of Cardiff Dragons) and Catherine Hares (chair of Wales Netball ) said Sutton "has been an exemplar CEO".

"She has worked collaboratively with Europe Netball and World Netball, at the same time growing the sport in Wales in difficult financial times.

"We knew we would only keep Vicki for a relatively short time but her three years as the CEO have been highly productive and we are sad to see her leave us, though we know she won’t be too far away."
