Jonathan Rea ended the World Superbike season by finishing second in Sunday's round at Magny-Cours.

The Ballyclare rider was 13th in the opener but secured a podium finish behind Tom Sykes in the second race.

Toomebridge's Eugene Laverty had a disappointing day on his Aprilia, coming in seventh in the first race and sixth in the second.

Rea finished fifth in the series with Laverty sixth, while Max Biaggi edged out Sykes to win the title.
