Guy Martin pipped Michael Dunlop to win Wednesday's Senior race at the Isle of Man meeting

Guy Martin earned a third straight Southern 100 Solo Championship success by winning Thursday's nine-lap race at the 4.25-mile Billown circuit.

Tyco BMW rider Martin held off the challenge of Manxman Dan Kneen, who was twice held up by back markers, to emulate his 2013 and 2014 triumphs.

Lincolnshire's Ivan Lintin took the final podium position on his Kawasaki.

Michael Dunlop slid off at Ballabeg on lap three while holding third spot after winning the earlier 1000cc race.

Ballymoney man Dunlop beat Martin by 0.08 seconds in the 1000cc event with Dean Harrison a further 1.6 seconds back.

Lintin clinched his second Supertwins victory of the week, finishing ahead of James Cowton and Jamie Coward.

Yorkshireman Harrison won Thursday's Supersport 600 race, setting a new lap record at 109.447mph in the process.

Mar-Train Yamaha rider Harrison was 2.7 seconds in front of Lintin at the flag, with Kneen third.

Martin beat Dunlop by 0.09 seconds in Wednesday's Senior race at the Castletown circuit.

Martin joins the late Joey Dunlop as the only rider to win three successive Southern 100 Solo Championship titles.

Dunlop completed the feat in 1976, 1977 and 1978.
