Anthony Ogogo became the seventh British boxer to qualify for the Olympics by reaching the final of the European qualifying event in Turkey.
The Lowestoft middleweight beat Belarusian Vitali Bandarenka 14-7 in his semi-final in Trabzon.
Callum Smith's hopes hang in the balance after the Liverpool man lost his light-heavyweight semi-final.
Smith needed to beat Vatan Huseynli to make sure of a place but lost 16-14, although he can still qualify.
Huseynli would need to beat Turkey's Bahram Muzaffer in the final on Saturday for that to happen.
Scot Josh Taylor, who won an Olympic lightweight spot on Wednesday, lost his semi-final against Vazgen Safaryants.
The Belarusian prevailed 13-10, but Taylor had already achieved his primary objective of making the Great Britain squad.
Ogogo, 23, only recently returned to the ring after five months out of action following shoulder surgery.
"I am just so thrilled and relieved to have finally qualified after all the challenges I have had to overcome," said Ogogo.
"I have had so much bad luck with injuries but I never lost faith in myself and have had some amazing support from the coaches and all of the back-up team.
"It will be a dream come true to represent Great Britain in a home Olympics."
GB Boxing's performance director, Rob McCracken said: "I am very pleased for Anthony, who really deserves this after everything he has been through.
"He has had to overcome some terrible luck with injury and it is great to see that his dedication, hard work and determination have been rewarded.
"I am very proud of the whole team and to have qualified seven boxers, with the chance of an eighth, is a fantastic achievement."
Ogogo's hopes were very nearly dashed in the previous round when he started the last round six points behind.
But he rallied to beat Jaba Khositashvili of Georgia on countback after a 14-14 draw.
Andrew Selby, Luke Campbell, Tom Stalker, Fred Evans and Anthony Joshua had already been selected for Team GB.
