Croatia's Sandra Perkovic wins Olympic discus title

Sandra Perkovic won the Olympic women's discus title with a Croatian national record throw of 69.11m.

Perkovic took the lead in the second round with 68.11m and added one metre in the next for what proved to be the winning distance.

Russia's Darya Pishchalnikova won silver with a throw of 67.56m in the penultimate round.

China's world champion Li Yanfeng took bronze, and Beijing champion Stephanie Brown Trafton of the US was fourth.
