Great Britain's women fell to an 80-77 overtime defeat against France after their Olympic basketball quarter-final hopes had ended earlier in the day.

She scored another right at the end of the extra period to win it for France, who top Group B.

But Britain's chances of making the last eight had ended earlier when Canada beat Brazil 79-73.

GB's final Group B match will be against Brazil on Sunday night.

Sandrine Gruda and Edwige Lawson-Wade scored 16 each for France, with Isabelle Yacoubou adding 15.

In the day's other Group B game, Australia beat Russia 70-66, with both teams joining France and Canada in Tuesday's quarter-finals.

Defending Olympic champions the United States made it four wins out of four in Group A by beating the Czech Republic 88-61, while Croatia beat Angola 75-56 and Turkey beat China 82-55.
