Chloe Magee to face Hongyan and Hosny in group stage

Chloe Magee has been drawn against Pi Hongyan and Hadia Hosny in the group stage of the women's singles in the London Games.

The Donegal woman lost to Hongyan of France in the quarter-finals of the Yonex Irish Open last year.

Hongyan, a quarter-finalist in Beijing in 2008, is world ranked 25th with Magee 44th and Egyptian player Hosny back in 113th.

The group winner progresses to the knockout stage.

Irish men's number one Scott Evans will play reigning World and Olympic champion Lin Dan of China in his opening group match.
