Chinese Taipei's Hsu Shu-ching lifted a combined 212kg to win the women's -53kg weightlifting gold medal in Rio.
Hsu lifted 100kg in the snatch and 112kg in the clean and jerk to take gold and improve on the silver she won at London 2012. It is Chinese Taipei's first medal of Rio 2016.
Hidilyn Diaz of the Philippines took silver with 200kg, while South Korea's Yoon Jin-Hee was third with 199kg.
Chinese favourite Li Yajun failed to register a clean and jerk.
Chinese Taipei is the name that the state better known as Taiwan, and officially as the Republic of China, competes under during the Olympics.
