Rio Olympics 2016: Brazil's Robson Conceicao wins historic lightweight gold
- Published
Lightweight Robson Conceicao became Brazil's first Olympic boxing champion by beating France's Sofiane Oumiha in Rio.
Conceicao, 27, started quickly to take the first round, but was cut above his left eye in the process.
He recovered in the second, though, knocking his 21-year-old opponent to the canvas.
Oumiha needed a knockdown in the last, but Conceicao outboxed him to win in front of a raucous crowd.
