What to expect from the Scots on Friday at the Olympics

Might the elusive first individual gold medal by a Scottish athlete finally be about to arrive on the third last day of these Olympics?

The Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome might be the place, with cyclists Neah Evans and Jack Carlin both looking to add to the silver and bronze medals already in their collections.

On a different kind of track, Eilish McColgan will be on the start line of the women's 10,000m after spending the past few months struggling with injury. She'll be joined by compatriot Megan Keith.

And in the pool, Grace Reid will go in the 3m springboard final.

Where will the Scots compete & when?

The oppressively-warm Velodrome is the place where the Scots' Games could really heat up.

Double team sprint silver medallist Carlin will hopefully be in the gold-medal match (17:00 BST) of the individual event after he took bronze in Tokyo.

Evans will then go in the Madison (17:09) with her eyes also on the top step of the podium.

Later in the day, injury and inexperience might count against McColgan and Keith in the women's 10,000m at the Stade de France (19:55).

McColgan has struggled for months with a knee problem, while Keith has only even run three 10k races in her short career.

And earlier in the day in the pool just across the road, Reid will go in the 3m spring final (14:00) but will need everything to fall into place if she is to add to her Commonwealth Games medals.
